Risques d’accidents sur la route Tivaouane-Pambal: les riverains tirent la sonnette d’alarme
As the Mawlid Al Naby, scheduled for September 5 or 6, 2025, approaches in Tivaouane, residents living along the Tivaouane-Pambal-Darou Alpha axis are concerned about the risk of accidents linked to the lack of road signs and speed bumps on this strategic route. During a press briefing, the mayor of Pambal, Lazar Lamane Thiaw, welcomed the progress of the asphalting work on this 20 km road, 95% complete, a notable step forward for regional mobility.
However, the lack of sidewalks, speed bumps, and road signs is causing serious concern, particularly with the expected influx of pilgrims for the Gamou. "The safety of the populations of the riverside villages is threatened," warned the mayor, highlighting the intense traffic on this route linking Dakar to Tivaouane, capital of the Tijaniyya. This situation is all the more worrying as millions of talibés will soon converge on the holy city for Buurd sessions and Mawlid celebrations.
Lazar Lamane Thiaw called on drivers, especially motorcycle drivers, to exercise discipline, caution, and responsibility to avoid tragedies. The population urged the authorities to finalize the installation of safety equipment before the Gamou to ensure smooth and safe traffic.

à part les absences répétées pour "causes religieuses" y compris celles des fêtes chrétiennes dans un pays à 99% musulman on se demande bien pourquoi le pays peine à trouver un statut de pays développé, travailleur, honnête !
