Rufisque : Un trafiquant en provenance de Kafountine intercepté avec 10 kg de chanvre indien
A major police operation was carried out by the Urban Security Unit of the Rufisque Central Police Station, resulting in the arrest of an individual in possession of 10 kilograms of cannabis. The incident occurred on November 2, 2025.
Having been informed of the imminent arrival of a trafficker by pirogue from Kafountine (Casamance region), the police immediately set up discreet surveillance at the Rufisque fishing pier, the planned landing place.
At around 4 a.m., while the detectives were on duty, they spotted a young man walking away from the exit gate of the platform, carrying a white bag.
Sensing the presence of the Research Brigade officers, the individual attempted to flee. A rapid chase ensued, allowing the police to intercept him.
The search of the bag revealed its contents: 10 bags, each containing 1 kg of Indian hemp, totaling 10 kg of narcotics.
The drugs were immediately seized at the police station for the purposes of the investigation. The suspect was taken into custody, and the investigation continues to dismantle the trafficking network.
