Saint-Louis : 45 comprimés d'ecstasy saisis aux abords d'une célèbre mosquée , deux trafiquants arrêtés par la police
A network selling ecstasy tablets operating near a famous mosque in the Diamaguène district has been dismantled by the Saint-Louis police, thanks to an anonymous tip.
Around 4 p.m., the police station received an anonymous tip about ecstasy pill trafficking in Diamaguène. After investigating the information, a surveillance operation was immediately set up near a well-known mosque. An informant posing as a customer was deployed to the location. Discussions with the suspects led to an agreement on a price of 2,500 CFA francs per pill.
The two suspects were apprehended just as they were about to make the delivery. They are Mr. Sarr, born in 2003 in Touba, an upholsterer residing in Pikine, and PM Diouf, born in 2003 in Touba, a driver residing in Touba. A search of PM Diouf revealed 45 ecstasy tablets packaged in a black bag, as well as 53,000 CFA francs in cash, proceeds from drug sales, according to Seneweb sources.
Taken to police headquarters, the two suspects were placed in custody after being informed of their rights, for possession and trafficking of ecstasy as part of an organized group. The drugs and the seized money were impounded at the police station for the purposes of the investigation. Prosecutor Baye Thiam was informed of the facts.
