SAINT-LOUIS : La BR ferme un cabinet médical clandestin chinois, deux prétendus médecins arrêtés
As part of the plan to combat insecurity and protect people and their property put in place by the high command, the research brigade (BR) of the gendarmerie company of Saint-Louis put an end to the illegal practice of medicine carried out by the Chinese company HAOQI.
Using undercover techniques, BR investigators discovered that the center was equipped with medical equipment and that medical consultations were regularly conducted there. Furthermore, the employees were not qualified to practice medicine, and the company itself lacked any legal authorization to carry out such activities.
This is how the gendarmes raided the premises, putting an end to this illegal activity. MB and NAF were arrested. They had presented themselves as doctors, were consulting patients, and issuing prescriptions. A significant quantity of medical equipment was seized, according to Seneweb sources close to the court.
At the end of their detention, the two suspects were brought before Prosecutor Baye Thiam, head of the Saint-Louis prosecutor's office, on Friday. They are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, illegally practicing medicine, and endangering the lives of others.
Investigators have been instructed to continue their investigations in order to identify and arrest all those responsible and involved in this illegal enterprise.
