Saint-Louis : Une personne tombée dans le fleuve, les recherches restent infructueuses
An unidentified person fell into the Senegal River last night in Saint-Louis. According to witnesses, the man, who was standing on the Faidherbe Bridge, suddenly jumped into the water. Firefighters were alerted and rushed to the scene to begin a search.
"We were alerted around 10:45 p.m. about a person who had fallen into the river near the bridge. We immediately went to the scene and searched until very late into the night, but unfortunately without success. Also this morning, around 7 a.m., we resumed the search until noon, even going as far as the Hydrobase. But we were unable to find the body. Last night, the currents were particularly strong," the firefighters said.
With the lack of visibility on the river and the very strong current at the moment, the chances of finding the bodies of people are greatly reduced.
