The Saly urban police station dismantled an office affiliated with the controversial QNET network, located in Saly-Carrefour, on August 1, 2025. This operation follows a complaint filed by Kalifou Baldé for fraud involving two Guinean Bissau nationals, Adama Touré and Banama Kantego, involving the sum of 650,000 CFA francs.

According to the complainant, Adama Touré convinced him to come to Mbour, Senegal, promising him stable employment. Once there, she put him in touch with Banama Kantego, who took him to an apartment and then to an office identified as a QNET contact point.

During the interview, Kalifou Baldé was offered a “product” priced at 650,000 CFA francs, which was supposed to guarantee him a weekly commission of 150,000 CFA francs. After making the payment, the defendants opened a catalog of products linked to QNET, explaining that the complainant would have to recruit at least six other people to hope to receive commissions.

Realizing that it was actually a pyramid scheme, Kalifou Baldé demanded an immediate refund. He was informed that he had actually purchased a product called "BioDiso," which was supposedly being delivered by a service provider. Realizing he had been duped, he contacted the authorities.

His complaint led to the arrest of Adama Issuto Touré and Banama Kantego. The investigation also led to the dismantling of the QNET office in Saly-Carrefour and the arrest of other individuals, including 14 Malians, two Senegalese, and one Gambian. Two desktop and laptop computers, two fans, a chest of drawers filled with documents, and various commercial products were also seized.

At the end of the proceedings, all the accused were presented to the public prosecutor on August 4, 2025. They are being prosecuted for belonging to a fraud network and illegal residence in Senegalese territory.
