A Congolese national was arrested and brought before the prosecutor for intentional assault and battery against her French ex-husband, following a police intervention on February 12 in Saly-Portudal.

 

According to information from the Saly-Portudal urban police station, the events took place around 8 p.m., following a request for intervention made by DLF Roclin, residing at the Résidence Paradis.

According to the plaintiff's statement, the hairdresser, Ruth Ilongosi-Inatole, 28, is his ex-wife. Their divorce was granted by the Mbour District Court, which also decided on shared custody of their minor daughter.

 

After the separation, accommodation had been made available to the accused. However, according to her ex-husband, her behavior, deemed disturbing and marked by shouting and incantations that disturbed the neighbors, had led him to temporarily house her and their child at his home.

 

Persistent tensions after the divorce

Thus, on the day of the incident, around 7 p.m., upon returning home, Mr. Roclin claims that he was confronted by his ex-wife who allegedly insulted him. Seeking to avoid a confrontation, he locked himself in his room.

 

A few minutes later, the woman allegedly asked him to call their daughter before returning and banging violently on his door. When he opened it, she reportedly attacked him with a broom, striking him several times and causing visible injuries to various parts of his body.

 

Alerted, members of the research brigade went to the scene and proceeded to arrest him.

 

In view of the injuries found on the victim, Ruth Ilongosi-Inatole was taken into custody for intentional assault and battery resulting in a temporary incapacity for work of five days, as well as for endangering the life of another.

 

Police also indicate that this is not the suspect's first act of violence. On November 3, 2025, she allegedly assaulted her ex-husband, causing him to be unable to work for seven days.

 

At the end of the investigation, the accused was brought before the prosecutor of the High Court of Mbour for repeated intentional assault and battery.
