Sandiara : Le maire Aliou Gning proteste contre une visite du ministre de l’Emploi jugée "non concertée"
The mayor of Sandiara, Aliou Gning, sent an official letter to the Minister of Employment and Vocational and Technical Training, Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarre, denouncing what he calls a lack of consultation during a recent ministerial visit to the municipality...
In his letter, the mayor expresses his "deep concern" following the minister's visit to the Sandiara vocational and technical high school, which was made in the company of government officials in charge of infrastructure and industry, without the mayor or the sub-prefect of Sessène having been informed beforehand.
"This situation is all the more surprising given that, a few weeks earlier, the Minister of Infrastructure had officially contacted me to invite the municipality to appoint two representatives to the monitoring committee responsible for the completion of the construction work on the said high school, following several meetings with ACBEP. The approach taken by his department demonstrated a willingness to consult and involve the local authorities in the finalization of this structuring project," the letter explains.
A visit also to the special economic zone
The mayor also points out that the ministerial delegation visited the Sandiara Special Economic Zone. He notes that the municipality is the promoter and developer, while APIX manages it and the Ministry of Economy exercises institutional oversight.
He regrets that neither the town hall, nor APIX, nor the competent authorities were involved or informed of this visit, even though, according to him, they play a central role in the governance and development of this strategic infrastructure.
Call for better institutional coordination
For the mayor of Sandiara, these initiatives carried out without prior coordination with administrative authorities and legally competent structures risk undermining the coherence of public action and creating institutional misunderstandings.
While reaffirming the municipality's commitment to collaborate with the State, Aliou Gning calls for better consultation on any initiative concerning infrastructure and structuring projects located on the municipal territory, in the interest of the population and local development.
The correspondence was forwarded for information to several authorities, including the President of the Republic, the Minister of Economy, the Minister of Urban Planning, the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Minister of Infrastructure, and the sub-prefect of Sessène.
