Sédhiou : Un étudiant en sociologie tombe avec 3 kg de chanvre indien après une course-poursuite
During a patrol in the Diannah Malary area (Sédhiou department), officers from the Sédhiou brigade, based at the local station, attempted to stop a Jakarta motorcycle traveling on the Carrefour Ndiaye–Kolda road for a routine check. The driver and passenger sped off, forcing their way through the officers' security perimeter. Suspecting illegal activity behind this behavior, the officers gave chase.
After passing through the village of Diannah Malary, the motorcyclist, identified as Mr. Diallo, a second-year sociology student at one of the country's universities, crashed while taking a turn near the village's high school in an attempt to evade the police. His companion took advantage of the confusion to flee. When apprehended and searched, the student was found to be carrying three kilograms of marijuana in his bag.
The contraband and the motorcycle were seized and are currently being held at the station. Student Mr. Diallo has been taken into custody for questioning.
