The Sédhiou territorial brigade arrested an individual in possession of 2 kg of Indian hemp in the Diannah Malary area of the Sédhiou region. The incident occurred on Monday, February 23, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Members of the brigade, on a security patrol, intercepted an individual on a motorcycle. He was traveling on Regional Road 21 (RR21), heading from Sédhiou to Kolda. Upon seeing the checkpoint, the motorcyclist forced his way through. After a chase, the gendarmes apprehended him. A search of the scene revealed 2 kg of marijuana concealed in a bag. The motorcycle and the drugs were seized. The suspect was taken into custody before being brought before the prosecutor.
