Sédhiou : La gendarmerie saisit 14 kg de chanvre indien, le trafiquant en fuite
According to information gathered from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, 14 kg of Indian hemp were seized by the gendarmerie in the department of Sédhiou, following a chase with the suspected trafficker. This occurred on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Members of the Sédhiou territorial brigade, on patrol in the Diannah Malary area, spotted a TVS motorcycle traveling near the village of Diopcounda. Upon seeing the gendarmes, the motorcyclist forced his way through a roadblock. A chase ensued.
Cornered, the suspect abandoned the motorcycle and fled on foot. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag containing 14 kg of marijuana. The suspect is actively being sought by the defense and security forces.
