Following the opening of a judicial investigation by prosecutor Saliou Dicko, head of the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office, wrestler Bébé Jackson was charged and then placed under a detention order on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, along with three of his co-accused: Y. Samb, 21, mechanic, P. Niang, 24, cart driver, and tailor B. Magane, 32 (brought before the same day by the urban security of the central police station of Guédiawaye).
Judicial supervision for two others
However, O. Diallo, Baby Jackson's coach, and the mason M. Yade, 20 years old, were placed under judicial supervision by the investigating judge.
What is "simol"?
"Simol" is a widespread method of assault in Dakar and its suburbs. It involves criminals identifying their victims, often isolated or vulnerable individuals, in order to violently attack them and rob them of their belongings (cell phones, money, jewelry). These attacks are generally brutal and swift, sometimes involving the use of bladed weapons. The perpetrators frequently operate in organized gangs and target their victims in the streets, on public transportation, or near homes.
