Situation hydrologique du fleuve Sénégal à Podor : la montée des eaux se poursuit
This Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 8 a.m., the hydrometric gauge at Quai Elhadj Boubou Sall in Podor recorded a level of 5.75 meters for the Senegal River. This figure marks an increase of 2 centimeters compared to the previous day, when the level was 5.73 meters.
For several days now, readings have confirmed a gradual rise in the water level. For comparison, on the same date in 2024, the river peaked at 5.66 meters, 9 centimeters lower than this year.
Alert level exceeded
The alert level set at 5 meters for Podor has been crossed since September 14, 2025. This situation calls for increased vigilance, particularly for local residents and local authorities.
