For over fifty days, 143 employees of the Radisson Hotel in Diamniadio have been on a peaceful strike to defend their rights and preserve their jobs. These workers, including managers, drivers, security guards, and other staff, are courageously occupying their workplace despite difficult conditions.
According to the Independence and Labour Party (PIT-Senegal), which published a statement on November 2, 2025, the hotel management — of Turkish origin — is showing “arrogance and defiance” towards the Senegalese authorities, including the Ministry of Labour, the judiciary and the labour inspectorate.
Practices deemed illegal
The management of the Radisson Diamniadio, bound to the Senegalese state by a management contract signed in December 2024, is accused by the PIT (Workers' Party of Senegal) of violating the Labor Code. They are alleged to have replaced several Senegalese employees with foreign staff, carried out numerous unfair dismissals, and forced some employees into departures that were "falsely negotiated."
The party also denounces the opening of a new establishment called Court Yard, located less than a kilometer from the Radisson, an initiative considered an act of unfair competition.
Silence from the authorities and a call for action
In its statement, the PIT-Senegal expressed its "outrage at the deafening silence of the government" in the face of a social conflict that has persisted for several weeks. The party believes that this inaction is contributing to the vulnerability of the 143 workers and their families, victims of "a blatant violation of labor laws carried out with complete impunity."
The PIT calls on the State to take urgent and decisive measures to end this crisis, while respecting the rights and interests of employees. The party also proposes terminating the management contract between the State and the Turkish management and returning the hotel to national control, entrusting it to competent professionals who adhere to the law.
Solidarity with the workers
Reaffirming its "total support" for the striking employees, the PIT-Senegal calls on all social and political forces in the country to mobilize in defense of the workers of the Radisson Diamniadio.
For the party, this struggle goes beyond the sole framework of the company: it embodies the resistance of Senegalese workers against employer abuses and the inaction of public authorities.
"These valiant workers are worthy representatives of the Senegalese working class," concludes the statement signed by the secretariat of the Central Committee of the PIT-Senegal.

« indigné par le mutisme assourdissant du gouvernement »
Le PIT ne représente que lui-même. Dou touss.
