Scandale Softcare : l'Ascosen monte au créneau
Momar Ndao, president of the Senegalese Consumers Association (Ascosen), welcomes the decision by the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP) to suspend Softcare products, noting that it follows an inspection carried out in accordance with approval procedures. He explains that "even if a product is initially approved, problems can arise later," justifying the need for more frequent inspections.
As reported by L'Observateur, he calls on consumers to "report and pass on any oddities" found on products in order to strengthen collective vigilance and prevent health risks.
For him, the control bodies must be "more equipped with human and logistical resources", and "the defense and security forces should be associated with the operations" for greater effectiveness.
Finally, Ndao warns against the influence of "certain lobbies" seeking to maintain impunity in sensitive cases. He argues for a strengthened role for consumer associations, in order to create genuine counterweights capable of sustainably protecting the health and safety of the population.
