Tabaski et Popenguine : Le gouvernement mobilisé
Meeting this Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Palace of the Republic, the Council of Ministers placed at the center of discussions the preparations for Tabaski and the 138th edition of the Marian Pilgrimage of Popenguine.
Regarding Tabaski, the Head of State Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye asked the government to take the necessary measures to ensure a good supply of sheep and everyday consumer goods to the markets, at prices accessible to the population.
"He instructs that, during this exceptional period, attention be paid to strengthening road safety and ensuring good organization of urban and interurban public transport systems for people and goods," reads the statement from the Council of Ministers.
The President of the Republic also asked that special attention be paid to the preparations for the 138th edition of the Marian Pilgrimage of Popenguine.
