In a national context marked by tensions and uncertainties, the mayor of Niamone, Atab Badji, chose the Tabaski festival to deliver a strong message: nothing can be built without peace, nothing can be constructed without unity.

The mayor welcomed the imam's speech, noting the essential words: peace in hearts and social cohesion.

For him, these values summarize the current state of the country and should guide every citizen in their actions. "It is important that we know that nothing can be built without peace. Nothing can be built without unity," he emphasized.

Taking advantage of the religious fervor, he made a solemn appeal to his fellow citizens in Niamone, in the village of Kassankine, and also to the whole of Senegal. Aware of the difficulties the country is facing, he invited everyone to make this Tabaski a moment of fraternity, forgiveness, and strengthening of social bonds.

“We live together, we work together, and inevitably mistakes can be made. Tabaski is the ideal time to forgive each other and strengthen our relationships,” he insisted.

In his message, Atab Badji also urged Muslim faithful to pray for a stable, united, and supportive Senegal. He emphasized that social cohesion and family ties must be preserved and passed on to future generations as a precious legacy. "We have an obligation to bequeath to our children a country of peace and unity," he affirmed.

The mayor warmly thanked the people of Kassankine for their welcome, before concluding with a prayer that Senegal would continue to move forward in peace, unity and collective sensitivity.
