Tambacounda : Un ancien prisonnier meurt noyé lors d’un bain de purification
A tragedy occurred in Gouloumbou, in the Tambacounda region. Driver Mbaye Bâ, 31, drowned shortly after his release from the Tambacounda prison, according to Seneweb sources.
Upon his release from prison, the former inmate went directly to Gouloumbou for a purification bath, a symbolic practice aimed at ridding himself of the prison's "impurities." Unfortunately, he was surprised by a powerful current of water that swept him away.
Alerted, emergency services tried to save him, but in vain. His body was recovered and taken to the regional hospital morgue for an autopsy.
An investigation has been opened by the Gouloumbou local gendarmerie brigade.
