Tambacounda : Le FONGIP octroie un financement de 40 millions de FCFA aux femmes

On a visit to exchange with the key players in the Tambacounda region, on the evening of Thursday, February 5, 2026, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, successively received local elected officials and economic actors during meetings that lasted late into the night.

On this occasion, the women of the Tambacounda Women's House, which brings together 50 Economic Interest Groups (EIGs), welcomed the funding of 40 million CFA francs granted by the Priority Investment Guarantee Fund (FONGIP), support deemed crucial for their economic empowerment and the strengthening of the social and solidarity economy in the region.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and highlighted the tangible impact of this funding on their income-generating activities and on improving the living conditions of women.

Beyond this support, several major concerns were raised, particularly regarding health, connectivity, employment, and access to isolated areas. In response, the Head of State announced the government's commitment to the Bakel health center and the launch, before the end of the year, of a national program for 112 ambulances to strengthen medical evacuations.

On the issue of connectivity, he assured that the difficulties will be gradually resolved thanks to the deployment of satellite internet in remote areas.

Regarding infrastructure, a budget of 24 billion FCFA has been allocated for the construction of roads as part of the Special Program for opening up isolated areas, in addition to the announced rehabilitation of the Tambacounda station.

Following these discussions, the State's CHRF reaffirmed its commitment to providing concrete and equitable responses to the needs of the territories, in line with the Senegal 2050 vision and the ambition to make 2026 the Year of Employment and the Social and Solidarity Economy.

Ce n'est vraiment pas beaucoup au prorata des femmes de la région...par rapport aux milliards qu'on entend ailleurs en financements.
