Terreur à Diass : Une Bissau-Guinéenne bâillonnée et violée collectivement par 2 voisins de son copain
The Diass local police brigade arrested two individuals accused of the gang rape of a young woman from Guinea-Bissau. The accused, T. Ba, a 26-year-old welder, and A. Dieng, a 37-year-old laborer, were brought before the Mbour High Court for these extremely serious crimes committed in the village of Benténier.
The events date back to Monday, January 5, 2025, around 8:00 p.m. The victim, A. Mendy, 20 years old, had gone to the home of her boyfriend, V. Diambou, who shares the same property as the two defendants. T. Ba and A. Dieng saw her enter her partner's room.
As she was leaving to return to her nearby home, the young woman was followed by T. Ba who, unable to control his impulses, threatened her with physical violence if she refused to go to his room. Feeling vulnerable to his enraged attacker, the victim complied under duress.
Once in the room, T. Ba forced her to have sex. But the horror didn't end there. After satisfying his lust, he invited his roommate, A. Dieng, who also abused the young woman. T. Ba then took the victim again and gagged her before releasing her, but not before threatening her with reprisals if she reported the abuse to her family or the authorities.
A swift and effective intervention by the police
The following day, Tuesday, January 6, the victim, accompanied by her boyfriend, found the courage to present herself at the Diass local brigade under the Mbour gendarmerie company to report the attack of which she had been a victim, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecutor's office.
The swift reaction of the Diass gendarmes proved crucial. Convinced that the facts would remain unknown, the two suspects had calmly gone to work at the Benténier iron factory. An immediate operation by the brigade to transport them to the suspects' workplace allowed for their arrest in record time.
Unequivocal confessions
When questioned about the charges against them, T. Ba and A. Dieng admitted to the acts without hesitation. They stated that they regretted the criminal act they had just committed, regrets which in no way diminish the gravity of their crime.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the two alleged rapists were brought before the Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Mbour. They will have to answer for their heinous acts before the law.
This case highlights the effectiveness of the gendarmes' responsiveness, who, thanks to their rapid and professional intervention, were able to arrest the alleged attackers less than 24 hours after the events, thus preventing any possibility of escape.
