Le Collectif des agents en cessation d’activités du ministère de l’Énergie, du Pétrole et des Mines apporte son soutien au Front syndical
The Collective of 44 Terminated Employees of the Senegalese Ministry of Energy, Petroleum, and Mines (CACAMEPM) issued a statement on Monday expressing its full support for the Trade Union Front for the Defense of Labor in Senegal. The collective says it fully supports the action plan implemented by the Coalition of Trade Unions and welcomes the unions' handling of its grievances.
The former agents recall that during the meeting of August 6, 2025, several commitments were made by the authorities, including the installation of the Management Committee of the Mining and Geological Development Fund by the Minister of Energy, Petroleum and Mines; and diligence in processing the files of workers who had ceased their activities at the ministry.
According to the collective, respecting these commitments constitutes not only a constitutional and moral obligation, but also an essential condition for strengthening the social stability pact and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.
By highlighting that 44 agents have been waiting for more than 15 months for their situation to be resolved, the CACAMEPM insists on the urgency of putting an end to what it describes as a "social tragedy".
The collective believes that a rapid resolution of this matter would reflect the State's desire to respect its commitments and to preserve a peaceful social climate in the mining and energy sector.
