La Gendarmerie nationale au cœur de l'action sociale à Kaolack
The association of wives of officers of the National Gendarmerie (EDEEN) carried out a humanitarian mission in the center of the country. Water infrastructure was inaugurated and food supplies were distributed.
On Monday, February 2, 2026, the EDEEN association traveled to the Kaffrine and Kaolack regions to carry out social projects for the benefit of local populations. This information was reported by Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the Communication and Public Relations Division of the National Gendarmerie.
The association drilled a borehole and two wells in three villages. The borehole was installed in Ndiayène Kassass, in the commune of Ngathie Naoudé, Kaffrine region. The two wells were constructed in Paracelle, in the commune of Mbadakhoune, and in Ngane Alassane, on the outskirts of Kaolack.
Beyond water infrastructure, EDEEN distributed essential supplies to the local population. Donations included rice, soap, oil, sugar, detergents, prayer mats, sheets, and household items. Special attention was given to the Oumou Souleymane orphanage in Sara Diamaguène, Kaolack, and the Daara orphanage for blind children in Ngane Alassane.
The delegation was led by Ms. Mbaye, Secretary General of EDEEN, accompanied by the Treasurer, Ms. Bocandé, as well as several other members of the association.
This initiative is a continuation of the social action undertaken by the High Command of the Gendarmerie. The EDEEN association remains a symbolic showcase working for the well-being of vulnerable segments of society while maintaining the vitality of the social actions championed by their spouses.
