Thiadiaye : un commerçant accusé d'acte contre nature sur un jeune homme, talismans mystiques et vidéo choc au tribunal

The Mbour High Court has heard a sensitive case involving I. Niane, 36, a trader, and NS, 18, who are being prosecuted for unnatural acts. The young NS, originally from Touba, arrived in Thiadiaye in 2019 to work alongside his brother. He was allegedly drawn into a vicious spiral by I. Niane, a supplier of goods.

The trader is said to have gradually influenced his prey, first by offering him "protective talismans," then by arranging sexual encounters. "He told me he would put me in touch with an old man to help me protect myself. One day, he gave me two bottles and told me to wash myself with one and spray myself with the other every time I went to the market. One day, he called me and offered to have sex with him and a girl. Then he arranged a second sexual encounter with a different girl from the first," the young man explains.

Over time, the relationship between the two men grew more intense. "At one point, it was just between him and me. We did it several times," says NS. A compromising video, showing the shopkeeper performing fellatio on a man, was produced in the case file. I. Niane eventually admitted, in a low voice, to having had sexual relations with a man who was not NS, before asking for forgiveness. But NS maintained that it was he who appeared in the video.

The prosecutor considered that I. Niane had "exerted a harmful influence" on the young NS. Recalling the latter's vulnerability, he requested 2 years in prison and a fine of 100,000 FCFA against NS, and 5 years in prison and a fine of 1 million FCFA against I. Niane. I. Niane's lawyer pleaded mitigating circumstances, stating that his client needed medical attention more than prison. Mr. Ayi, NS's counsel, insisted on his client's status as a victim: "This boy had barely entered adolescence when he met I. Niane. He was manipulated. The law must be applied with the greatest benevolence," argued Mr. Ayi. The deliberation is set for Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
