Thiaroye : La BRS de Dakar saisit 118 kg de "yamba", un tailleur arrêté en pleine séance de conditionnement
The Dakar regional narcotics brigade, under the OCRTIS, made a major drug seizure on the night of Saturday, February 21, 2026, around 10:25 p.m., in Thiaroye.
It all started with the exploitation of operational intelligence indicating the imminent delivery of a drug shipment destined for the Dakar suburbs, specifically Thiaroye. The surveillance and tracking operation deployed for this purpose allowed for the interception of the delivery vehicle and the arrest of the suspects and the seizure of the drugs they intended to store at their residence.
A 39-year-old tailor, identified as ID and residing in Thiaroye, was caught in the act of packaging drugs. His accomplice, however, managed to escape, according to Seneweb sources.
The search uncovered five packages of cannabis weighing a total of 118 kg, hidden in their storage room, along with packaging materials. The drugs, cash, two motorcycles, and the packaging materials were seized and placed under seal.
ID was taken into custody for possession and domestic drug trafficking and money laundering. The public prosecutor has been notified and an investigation is underway.
