Thiaroye-sur-Mer submergée : le maire appelle l’État à l’aide
For the past 48 hours, Thiaroye-sur-Mer has been hit by a strong swell that is causing devastation. The waves are violently invading homes along the Atlantic Ocean, plunging residents into panic and making it difficult for them to leave.
Interviewed on RFM, Mayor El Mamadou Ndiaye expressed his concern about this disaster. "This is an unprecedented situation. Some people are literally being overwhelmed by the waves. We are powerless and are urgently appealing to the state and the relevant authorities to help the population," he said.
Residents are demanding concrete measures to protect their homes and livelihoods from the relentless advance of the sea.
