THIÈS : Des individus armés attaquent une maison et emportent une tontine contenant plus de 3 millions F CFA
The Keur Massamba Guèye neighborhood (Cité F9) experienced a horrific scene on the night of Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Around 9 p.m., four hooded individuals, armed with pistols and machetes, broke into a home to steal the tontine that an elderly mother was guarding.
According to Caroline, a member of the household that was attacked, the assailants waited until the women of the neighborhood had finished their "Avec" (meeting) before raiding the house. She stated that when the men arrived and found her at the entrance, she tried to stop them, but the assailants brandished a gun to force her to leave.
"When I tried to block the door, they fired a shot to deter me. They then entered the house and found my husband and son. They tried to push them back with pieces of brick, but they injured them with their machetes. They then demanded to know where the tontine that my mother-in-law was looking after was, threatening us with their weapons. They ended up taking the tontine, which contained more than 3 million FCFA," Caroline recounted.
She added that after their crime, the perpetrators fled and disappeared into thin air. "When they took the tontine, we shouted 'thief' and the whole neighborhood came out. Unfortunately, people couldn't catch them because they were armed," she emphasized.
Caroline announced that the police then went to the scene to investigate the facts.

Ce phénomène est plus grave que celui des jakartamen agresseurs dont les riverains se plaignent.
C'est un problème à traiter avec beaucoup de sérieux.
Normalement,on doit remarquer des rondes de la police et de la gendarmerie, des checkpoints quand on traverse la ville en pleine nuit.
