Thiès : Arrêté avec 125 g de chanvre indien, A. Djigo affirme soigner son asthme
A. Djigo, 59, appeared before the Thiès court for flagrant offenses on charges of offering or transferring cannabis. He was arrested in his room in the Hersent neighborhood, in possession of 125 grams of cannabis.
In court, he admitted to the charges and explained that the police had caught him in his room with the drugs. "I only had one small bag. I bought it for 10,000 CFA francs from a man named Karbala in Moussanté. It was for my own use. I was going to stay at the chicken coop, which is why I took a large quantity. I smoke marijuana to relieve my asthma," he stated, before asking the court for leniency.
The court noted that the defendant had already been sentenced to six months, then to three months in prison for similar offenses.
The public prosecutor, considering the facts to be consistent, requested the application of the law.
The verdict is expected soon.
