Thiès : B. Ndione condamné pour avoir agressé son frère à coups de machette
B. Ndione was brought before the Thiès court of flagrant offenses for intentional assault and battery resulting in a temporary incapacity for work (ITT) of several days on his brother, J. Ndione.
The events occurred following a dispute over a field.
In court, the victim explained that she had argued with her brother while they were in the fields. According to her testimony, after an exchange of insults, B. Ndione brandished a machete and struck her three times.
For his part, B. Ndione did not deny the facts. He admitted to striking the blows, while denying any intention to cause serious injury.
"He attacked me first with a stick. I defended myself with my machete," he said, before asking forgiveness from the victim and the court.
Considering the facts to be consistent, the prosecution requested the application of the law.
B. Ndione received a three-month suspended prison sentence.
