Tribunal de Thiès : T. Bal traîné à la barre par sa femme pour violences conjugales
T. Bal, a 32-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, is being brought before the Thiès court for violence and assault by his wife.
According to the complainant, her husband beat her following an argument. "This is the third time he's beaten me and the second time I've filed a complaint. He's a violent husband. He never stops beating me," A. Guèye stated. She added that her husband even divorced her because of this incident, after three years of marriage.
But T. Bal denied the accusations. The husband stated that it was his wife who provoked him and threatened him with a knife. He added that she was not fulfilling her role as a housewife. "She doesn't wash my clothes, she doesn't cook for me. What's more, she's jealous. She spies on me and makes up stories. And when she gets angry, she tears my clothes and threatens me," T. Bal retorted.
The public prosecutor considered the facts to be consistent and requested the application of the law.
The verdict is scheduled for December 29, 2025.
