Thiès Nord : quand l’insalubrité ternit l’image de l’espace public
In Thiès, in the municipality of Thiès Nord, unsanitary conditions are a daily reality in the heart of the public space. Opposite the Daniel Brottier School and near the central market, an open-air garbage dump emits nauseating odors, much to the dismay of local residents.
Those most at risk remain the students of the neighboring school, forced to learn in a polluted environment with significant health risks. Between toxic fumes and the proliferation of waste, the situation is causing serious concern among the local population.
On Boulevard Xavier Ndione, despite being perceived as a showcase of the municipality's urban development, the situation is just as alarming. Garbage accumulates there, degrading the living environment and exposing users to various diseases.
For many residents, this situation goes beyond a simple lack of maintenance. They believe it reflects an abdication of responsibility by the municipal authorities. "A municipality that allows its environment to rot jeopardizes the dignity, health, and future of its citizens," they lament.
Faced with this reality, the population is calling for an urgent response from the competent authorities in order to restore a healthy living environment that respects hygiene standards.
