Mr. Ndiaye, a 25-year-old hairdresser, and A. Sow, a 20-year-old Jakarta motorcycle driver, appeared before the Thiès court of flagrant offenses for the offenses of criminal association and offering or transferring Indian hemp.

In court, Mr. Ndiaye admitted to having been in possession of a single cone of Indian hemp, claiming to have bought it from the uncle of his co-defendant, A. Sow. However, he denied any trafficking activity.

However, the police investigation indicates that he was arrested in Darou Salam with several packets of marijuana. Investigators also maintain that he stated during his interrogation that A. Sow regularly supplied him with drugs.

For his part, Jakartaman A. Sow contested the accusations. He claimed to be unaware that his uncle, named Ame, was involved in selling Indian hemp and asserted that he had never delivered "yamba" to Mr. Ndiaye.

In his indictment, the public prosecutor requested that the charges against Mr. Ndiaye be reclassified as possession of Indian hemp for personal consumption, before requesting a six-month prison sentence.

Regarding A. Sow, the public prosecutor requested that he be sentenced to two months in prison for facilitation.

The court acquitted A. Sow of all charges due to reasonable doubt. It then acquitted Mr. Ndiaye of the charge of criminal conspiracy and reclassified the charges from supplying or offering cannabis to possession and use of cannabis. Mr. Ndiaye was found guilty on this charge and sentenced to three months in prison.
