Thiès : une violente altercation avec un jakartaman a coûté la vie à un retraité de la Senelec
A tragedy occurred on Tuesday, March 10th in the Carrière district of Thiès. Elder D. Mané, a retired Senelec employee, lost his life following a heated altercation with a young motorcycle driver.
According to several eyewitness accounts, a dispute broke out between the two men, leading to a particularly heated argument. During the altercation, the younger man hurled insults at the older man.
Deeply affected by these remarks, D. Mané lost his temper before collapsing. Overcome by emotion and anger, he suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the spot. Despite attempts to revive him, he died instantly.
The victim was well-known in the neighborhood. After retiring from Senelec, he had created his own company specializing in electrical work. His office was located in the Carrière district, where he continued his professional activities.
This tragedy also reignites debates about verbal violence and street altercations which, sometimes, can have tragic consequences.
