Touba : Un voleur de camion chargé de 39 tonnes de ciment arrêté avec ses trois receleurs

A bizarre scene took place in Touba where a reckless driver facilitated the theft of his cargo by leaving his vehicle keys inside.

The complainant had parked his truck containing 39 tons of cement, carelessly leaving the keys inside. Taking advantage of this opportunity, K. Lo, a 45-year-old cement seller living in the Ndamatou neighborhood of Touba, did not hesitate to seize the truck.

After stealing the vehicle, the suspect proceeded to unload the entire cargo. He managed to sell 28 tons of cement to three different receivers, while hiding the remaining 11 tons in a warehouse, according to Seneweb sources.

The investigation and arrests

Once his crime was accomplished, K.Lo abandoned the empty truck in the Serigne Niang Diop district of Touba.

Alerted by the suspicious presence of the vehicle, police officers from the Gouy Mbind station immediately opened an investigation.

At around 4:20 p.m. on September 12, the driver, BMNdiaye (26 years old), accompanied by the driver Mr. Faye, went to the Gouy Mbind police station to report the theft of his truck loaded with 39 tons of cement.

Thanks to the investigations carried out by the police officers of the research brigade under the command of Warrant Officer Mboup, the investigators quickly traced the trail to the main suspect.

Confessions and the dismantling of the network

Arrested and taken to the police station, K.Lo initially denied the charges before making a full confession. He revealed that he had sold the stolen goods to three receivers: Mr. Niang (15 tons), A. Sarr (8 tons) and Mrs. K. Dieng (5 tons).

The remaining 11 tonnes had been stored in a depot awaiting sale.

Lieutenant Pape Demba Diouf's men then proceeded to arrest the three receivers for the purposes of the hearing. All of the stolen cement was recovered and taken to the police station.

Following the investigation, K. Lo and his three receivers were brought before the Diourbel High Court last Wednesday. They could be remanded in custody this Friday.

C'est pas évident pour les receleurs de savoir que c'est du ciment volé, puisque selon le texte K. Lô est lui même vendeur de ciment. Donc les trois acheteurs étaient peut-être des clients habituels à qui il vendait du ciment (non volé).
