Touba : Cheikh Mountakha Bassirou Mbacké magnifie le dynamisme du maire de Thiès, Dr Babacar Diop
As a prelude to the Grand Magal of Touba, the mayor of Thiès, Dr. Babacar Diop, at the head of a large delegation, was received by the general caliph of the Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Bassirou Mbacké. During an audience, the mayor paid tribute to Serigne Abdou Lacrame Mbacké, his marabout, who facilitated his "ziar" with the spiritual guide.
Mayor Babacar Diop reaffirmed his commitment to the Caliph's guidelines, including the promotion of community development, peacebuilding and the preservation of social cohesion.
"Everything is a lesson for you. We work tirelessly to spread your values and to consolidate peace, as you have always indicated. I believe that the Nobel Peace Prize should go to you," the mayor said.
Serigne Mountakha Mbacké praised the commitment of the chief magistrate of Thiès to serving his community and encouraged him to persevere on this path.
