Touba : il se fait passer pour une femme sur WhatsApp grâce à l'IA et collecte des images intimes d'hommes
The Ndamatou district police station in Touba arrested F. Mbaye, 21, a tailor, for illegally collecting and distributing pornographic images and videos, fraud via social networks, blackmail and identity theft, according to Seneweb sources.
His arrest followed a complaint filed with the Ndamatou police by MS Fall, a housewife. She told investigators that her ex-husband's brother was using her images and videos via WhatsApp to make sexual advances to men, from whom he also demanded money.
Heard as a victim, N. Fall stated that he had received an audio message from a female voice wishing to get to know him.
The sender's WhatsApp account had a profile picture of a girl named A. Fall. During their exchanges, her interlocutor sent her sexually explicit stickers before inviting her to a video call where she exposed her private parts.
Also heard as a victim, MN Diop stated that the accused had contacted him on WhatsApp, presenting himself as a woman. To lure him, he sent him photos of a woman named MS Fall, whom he immediately recognized.
It was when the accused asked her to transfer phone credit to him that MN Diop informed Ms. MS Fall, who recognized the beneficiary of the line as her former brother-in-law.
When questioned by police, tailor F. Mbaye admitted to the acts. His modus operandi consisted of downloading photos and videos of the victim from her WhatsApp status, then obtaining a SIM card linked to a WhatsApp account and setting an image of the victim as the profile picture, with the aim of seducing his prey.
He also admitted to making several video calls using artificial intelligence to alter his voice to sound like a woman's. Through this subterfuge, he managed to collect numerous intimate images from his victims.
