Touba : La police démantèle un réseau de voleurs de bétail, 14 moutons retrouvés
A cattle theft network was dismantled thanks to the pooling of forces between the Touba special police station, headed by Chief Superintendent Diégane Sène, and the Gouy Mbind police station, headed by Lieutenant Pape Demba Diouf.
The raid resulted in the arrest of two butchers and the recovery of 14 stolen sheep, while the gang's driver is actively sought.
On September 18, 2025, at around 7 p.m., elements of the research brigade of the Touba special police station arrested two individuals suspected of criminal conspiracy and nighttime cattle theft with means of transport. They are T. Diop (born in 1987 in Touba) and P. Diop (born in 1992 in Touba), both butchers living in the Dianatou Firdawsi neighborhood.
Their arrest follows a case of cattle theft recorded on the night of September 11 to 12, 2025.
CST investigators received information that two members of the gang were frequenting a dibiterie located at the Touba bus station. A raid on the premises led to the arrest of the suspects.
During their interrogation, the accused admitted their involvement in the affair. They also revealed the identity of their accomplice, BG, the driver of the vehicle used to transport the stolen cattle. The latter remains untraceable for the time being and is the subject of an intense search, according to Seneweb sources.
The 14 stolen sheep and the vehicle used in the crime were found by members of the Gouy Mbind police station's search brigade, where the two butchers were taken into custody.
