Touba Mboul (Mbacké) : Le chauffeur d’une bande de voleurs de bétail trahi par une panne sèche
The local police brigade in Kaël, in the department of Mbacké, brought before the court on Wednesday a driver involved in a cattle theft case that occurred in the commune of Touba Mboul.
According to Seneweb sources, the incident occurred after three individuals managed to steal two oxen belonging to A. Tine, a resident of the village of Noukouwel. The perpetrators loaded the animals into a Peugeot 406 after committing the theft.
But during their escape, the vehicle ran out of fuel. Pursued by residents alerted to the theft, two of the thieves tried to flee with the cattle, abandoning the driver. He was quickly apprehended and subdued by the locals before the arrival of officers from the Kaël neighborhood police station.
The police arrested him and managed to recover the two stolen oxen, which were returned to their owner.
The driver was brought before the prosecutor in Diourbel after being held in custody for cattle theft. The two other thieves who fled are actively being sought.
