The Kédougou Regional Narcotics Brigade arrested four individuals involved in separate cases of trafficking and possession of Indian hemp on February 21 and 23, 2026, according to Seneweb sources.

First operation in Guémédji

On February 21, 2026, around 04:00, following operational intelligence indicating the existence of an Indian hemp trafficking network in the village of Guémédji, the brigade's members conducted a targeted raid.

Two suspects were arrested at the scene:

F. Danfakha, aged 24, gold panner residing in Guémédji;

K. Danfakha, aged 22, also a gold panner residing in the same place.

The investigation led to the arrest of the first man in possession of 40 packets of Indian hemp and 130 grams of the same product in bulk. The second man was found in possession of 59 packets of Indian hemp.

The two suspects were taken into custody for possession and trafficking of Indian hemp.

Second operation in the Congory district

On February 23, 2026, around 9:00 p.m., following an anonymous tip about an Indian hemp trafficking network in the Congory district, the Regional Narcotics Brigade opened a new investigation.

The information gathered indicated that a group of young people were meeting every evening in a room to sell and consume marijuana. Discreet surveillance was set up, leading to the arrest of two individuals in the room.

This is:

DK Diallo, aged 19, tailor residing in Congory;

MA Diallo, aged 32, driver residing in the same neighborhood.

At the time of their arrest, they were in possession of 10 cones and a joint of Indian hemp.

The two suspects were taken into custody for offering or transferring, possessing and using Indian hemp.

Investigations are continuing to determine the exact extent of these networks.
