Trafic de drogue aux Maristes : La Gendarmerie arrête six dealers dont deux étudiants

As part of its core mission to combat crime and delinquency, the Hann Maristes Gendarmerie's local brigade dismantled a drug trafficking network operating in the Maristes neighborhood. The operation resulted in the arrest of six individuals, including two students.

Six suspects, including two students

The people arrested are SN, a mason residing in Maristes, O. Touré, a delivery man residing in the same area, SM Kane, an electrician residing in Maristes, M. Faye, also a delivery man and living in Maristes, as well as two students: SN, residing in Maristes, and SF, residing in Grand Mbao.

They were taken into custody for conspiracy and drug trafficking involving 95 packets of Indian hemp, according to Seneweb sources.

The operation followed a tip-off about a large drug trafficking network operating in the Maristes district. In response, the gendarmes set up a stakeout and conducted discreet surveillance in the targeted area.

For several days, the suspicious comings and goings of certain individuals made it possible to identify the sellers as well as their customers.

According to the investigation, the suspects used a well-rehearsed method. They buried a plastic bag containing the drugs in a specific location, then settled down in a secluded spot. Each time a customer arrived, one of them would go to the hiding place to dig up a packet before returning the product to the agreed location.

After formally identifying the suspects, the police carried out a targeted and forceful operation that led to their arrest. A body search, as well as a search of the hiding place, resulted in the seizure of 95 packets of cannabis.

When questioned about the events, the majority of suspects admitted to the charges, citing financial difficulties to justify their involvement in the trafficking. However, two of them, identified as SN and SM Kane, attempted to deny the charges, despite being formally identified during their trips between the hideout and the clients.

At the end of the investigation, the six suspects were brought before the High Court of Dakar yesterday, Friday.
