Trafic de migrants : un réseau international démantelé

Two individuals, Mr. Sathie and Mr. Sarr, were brought before the court for criminal conspiracy and migrant smuggling by sea. The case, reported by Libération, broke on October 7 when Sathie, a Quranic teacher based in Gambia, was intercepted at the Karang border while attempting to cross the border through an unofficial route. He was in possession of several passports and identity cards belonging to potential illegal immigrants.

The investigation quickly led to the identification of his accomplice, Mr. Sarr. The latter, later arrested at Massarinko beach, unequivocally admitted to having participated in the organization of the trip.

The investigations also revealed a structured network: a man named Ismaila hosted the candidates in the village of Djinack-Kajata. A woman named Tanty, based in Spain, was responsible for recruiting candidates of Ivorian nationality.

The exploitation of the telephones of the accused confirmed all the facts and exchanges linked to the organization of the trafficking, details Libération.
