Trafic d'ecstasy ("souss") à Taïf : 45 comprimés saisis et 3 trafiquants arrêtés par la gendarmerie
The gendarmerie brigade in Taïf has dismantled an ecstasy trafficking network operating between Thiès, Mbacké, and Taïf. Three individuals were arrested in possession of 45 ecstasy tablets, commonly known as "souss." They were brought before the prosecutor in Diourbel, according to Seneweb sources.
The case began when Warrant Officer Mbaye, commander of the Taïf brigade, and his men were informed of the existence of a drug trafficking network operating between Thiès, Mbacké, and Taïf. The investigators then decided to infiltrate this drug mafia in order to dismantle it.
An order for about thirty ecstasy tablets was placed with the dealer BDM, born in 2005 and residing in Mbacké.
Not having that quantity in stock, he sought the help of his colleague BMM, born in 1997 and residing in Thiès. The two traffickers, accompanied by their accomplice FN, headed towards Taïf in a Peugeot 406 to deliver the drugs.
They thus fell into a trap set by the gendarmes near the Porokhane basin, in the municipality of Touba. Upon seeing the police, the drug dealer BDM fled after their vehicle was stopped. The gendarmes, in pursuit, eventually apprehended him. His accomplices, BMM and FN, were arrested on the spot without resisting.
A search of the Peugeot 406 led police to discover 45 ecstasy tablets, also known as "souss" in street slang. This seizure represents a significant quantity of narcotics that could have supplied the local drug market.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the three suspects were brought before the public prosecutor at the Diourbel High Court. They are being prosecuted for offering and supplying drugs, drug trafficking, drug possession, and complicity.
