Drame à Tivaouane : Un enfant de 5 ans perd la vie dans un bassin de rétention
There is widespread shock in Maka Guéye Béye, a village in the commune of Taïba-Ndiaye, in the department of Tivaouane, where a tragedy occurred last Thursday. A five-year-old child lost his life after falling into a water retention basin.
Witnesses at the scene reported that a young boy was playing near the hydraulic structure when he suddenly slipped and fell into the water around 5:50 p.m. that day. His father, alerted by a witness, immediately went to the scene to try to rescue him. Tragically, he could only confirm the child's death.
The officers of the Taïba-Ndiaye gendarmerie brigade carried out the standard procedures. The body was transported by firefighters to the Mame Abdou Aziz Sy Dabakh Hospital in Tivaouane.
