B. Diop is a notorious car thief. Aged 39, he stole several cars before being apprehended in Thiès. His arrest followed a complaint filed by I. Mbow after the theft of his Hyundai Tucson, which he had parked in a parking lot.

Police investigations subsequently led to the vehicle being located in Mr. Wade's possession. He informed investigators that B. Diop had sold him the car. Police officers successfully arrested the suspect in Thiès.

During the search of his home in Guédiawaye, they discovered several vehicle keys and suspicious objects in his room.

Charged with theft committed at night with an offense, B. Diop is placed under a detention order.

In the dock of the Thiès court for flagrant offenses, the defendant admitted to the facts, stating that he had committed five vehicle thefts. He then went on to describe his modus operandi.

"This is the fifth time I've stolen a vehicle. I've also broken into many other cars. I operated between Rufisque and Mbao. I would find vehicles in parking lots, then I would steal the keys or force the doors to start the engine and disappear," B. Diop confessed.

Continuing, he stated that he had sold the Hyundai Tucson for 7 million CFA francs to a man named Mr. Wade.

According to the public prosecutor, the defendant is an extremely dangerous individual for society. He emphasized that B. Diop had been wanted by the police for a long time following complaints. The public prosecutor's representative indicated that after his arrest, other victims came forward to the prosecutor's office to report the disappearance of their vehicles.

Believing B. Diop guilty of the acts, he requested a 5-year prison sentence.
