The Point-E police station has opened an investigation following a complaint from student YS (20 years old), who claims to have been the victim of sexual assault on the social campus of Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar.
Libération, which broke the story, reports that the complainant, forced to sleep in the corridors of Pavilion J due to lack of space, first experienced a suspicious incident on March 15. Upon waking, he allegedly discovered traces of semen on the back of his trousers. Convinced that someone had violated his privacy while he slept, he decided to set a trap the following night by pretending to be asleep.
Around 1 a.m., the same source continued, an individual identified as SD approached him, claiming he wanted to share his bed because his own room was full. Later that night, when the suspect allegedly began caressing his buttocks and genitals, YS suddenly grabbed his hand, catching him in the act.
Panicked, SD reportedly fled, locking himself in a room before attempting to escape through a window. Jumping from the second floor of the building to evade his pursuer, he fell violently and sustained serious injuries. Rescued by security guards from the University Social Services Center of Dakar (COUD), he was rushed to the Main Hospital, while the complainant formally filed a complaint, the newspaper concluded.
