Un incendie se déclare à l’immeuble Tamaro
A fire alarm was raised this Tuesday at the Tamaro building, located in the heart of Dakar. According to initial reports from our colleagues at Dakaractu, the fire broke out and affected several levels of the building, specifically between the fifth and eleventh floors.
As a safety precaution, all occupants of the building were calmly evacuated, while members of the National Fire and Rescue Service were quickly deployed to the scene. Reconnaissance and securing operations are continuing actively to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess its true extent.
Among the structures and institutions housed in this building is the National Audiovisual Regulatory Council (CNRA), whose official offices are located on the tenth floor of the structure.
At this stage of the operation, no fatalities or injuries have been reported by emergency services. However, firefighters are facing significant difficulties accessing the affected areas, which is particularly complicating their deployment. Teams on site are working to identify the most appropriate technical means to quickly reach the affected upper floors and permanently secure the entire building.
The exact circumstances and cause of the fire remain unknown at this time. Further information on the situation is expected as soon as possible.
