According to initial reports, the victim was picked up by the driver before he deviated from the original route and took her to an unknown destination. Faced with this alarming situation, the passenger reportedly refused to continue the journey.
It was at this point that the driver allegedly became violent. He reportedly beat her severely, particularly in the face, causing serious injuries. A video widely shared on social media shows the victim covered in blood and visibly bruised from the assault. According to witness statements accompanying the video, the driver also attempted to steal her purse and cell phone.
The victim's cries for help, however, attracted the attention of law enforcement officers present at the scene. They immediately pursued the vehicle, thus interrupting the attack, and the suspect was reportedly apprehended.
