Violences à ascendant : M. Camara condamné à un mois de prison ferme
The Thiès court delivered its verdict on Monday, April 20, 2026, in a domestic violence case involving young Mr. Camara. Tried on April 13, 2026, for violence and assault against his father, the defendant saw the charges reduced to threats of violence and assault.
Found guilty on these charges, he was sentenced to one month in prison.
According to the evidence presented at the hearing, the dispute stems from a conflict related to the layout of the family yard. Mr. Camara had undertaken to install a sheep pen there, occupying a large portion of the space. His father then asked him to reduce the area in order to preserve a suitable living environment for the rest of the family.
The situation then escalated. According to the head of the family, his son lost his temper, hurling insults and threats, and even brandishing a weapon. Faced with this escalation, he contacted the police, who arrested his son.
In court, Mr. Camara admitted to the acts and apologized. The father, however, mentioned a change in his son's behavior, due to his son's association with cannabis users.
The deputy public prosecutor had requested a two-month prison sentence. The court ultimately sentenced Mr. Camara to one month in prison.
