Viols sur mineure à Yeumbeul : le marchand ambulant transforme sa nièce de 12 ans en objet sexuel et impute la faute à sa femme
As revealed yesterday by Seneweb, S. Baldé was arrested and brought before the prosecutor for repeated rapes of a minor under the age of 13, committed by a person in a position of authority over the victim. The accused, a street vendor residing in Yeumbeul-Comico, is the uncle of the victim, R. Baldé, who is 12 years old.
S. Baldé took in his niece after her mother's death and his brother's decision to entrust her to his care, as he lacked the financial means to care for her himself. In its Monday edition, L'Observateur reports that R. Baldé slept next to his cousin on a mat on the floor in the same room as his uncle and his wife.
Following a falling out with his wife, who subsequently withheld sexual relations from him, according to the newspaper Groupe Futurs Médias, S. Baldé boycotted the marital bed and joined the two children on the mat. "This promiscuity ultimately led to the rape of the teenage girl," the newspaper reports.
The first time, the same source recounts, it was a hand that lingered on the girl's frail body. "When she woke with a start, he gestured for her to be quiet and stopped there," L'Observateur reports. "The following night, he went much further. After touching her inappropriately, the uncle proceeded to sexual acts, gradually transforming his goddaughter into a sexual object. His wife's absence always provided the perfect opportunity for the perverse uncle to carry out his dirty deeds."
R. Baldé endured her ordeal in silence. But at the sewing training center she attended, an instructor noticed she was troubled. The teacher gained her trust and worked to get her to open up. The girl broke down and confided in him about her ordeal with her uncle. The Yeumbeul-Comico police station was alerted.
The gynecological examination carried out at the Yeumbeul health center confirmed the rapes. "When apprehended, S. Baldé readily admitted to the acts," reports L'Observateur. "He justified his actions by citing his wife's behavior, saying that by refusing him, she ended up throwing him into the arms of her niece."
The street vendor will have to find other arguments, be more persuasive, to hope to get away with mitigating circumstances.
