Eau et assainissement : Des membres des organisations de la société civile à Ziguinchor alertent
The Senegalese Water and Sanitation Civil Society Organization (CSO) platform is mobilizing its members in Ziguinchor. The goal is to address the challenges related to access to water and sanitation in the region. For these stakeholders, a thorough assessment of these issues to support the government is essential to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Daouda Sano, Finance Officer of the Senegalese Water and Sanitation CSO Platform, emphasizes that the water issue is a challenge for all stakeholders, not just civil society. With this in mind, civil society can only commit to supporting the efforts of the Senegalese government.
According to him, the platform only plays a monitoring and alert role. Therefore, grassroots actors must align themselves with national realities to give specificity to the region in relation to priorities. Thus, the Senegalese Water and Sanitation CSO Platform recommends a Senegalese water forum to evaluate the results achieved each year.
