Yarakh : un maître coranique arrêté
Mr. Mangane, a Quranic teacher, is facing serious consequences. The man, in his thirties and residing in Yarakh, was arrested following the discovery of two young twins found wandering the streets. According to Libération, which reported the story in its Saturday, January 24th edition, the children were found by police officers from the Rebeuss police station in the Petersen area. The investigation determined that they were talibés (Quranic students) who had run away from their daara (Quranic school) in Yarakh.
Worse still, the newspaper points out, law enforcement officers found several traumatic injuries on the two boys' bodies, revealing clear signs of violence. Informed of the situation, their Quranic teacher, who is also their biological uncle, turned himself in at the police station that afternoon.
During his interrogation, he admitted the facts with chilling candor: quoted by the daily newspaper, he admitted to having whipped the children on several occasions, claiming to have acted with the intention of "correcting" them, explaining that his nephews had a habit of running away.
The suspect was taken into custody for child abuse following his hearing. The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the abuse and the conditions under which the children were cared for at the daara, the same source reports.

Nguir Yalla ak yonent bi wakh len si li !
